Stuck is the updated English edition of curator Francesco Bonami’s semi-fictional “autobiography” of Maurizio Cattelan, which was originally printed in Italian in 2011 and in its first English edition in 2013. Bonami—the artist’s friend and longtime collaborator—mischievously adopts Cattelan’s voice to relate his provocative views on art and society, tracing the events of his life and career beginning with his childhood in Italy. The book reproduces a selection of key artworks and features a new foreword and six new chapters that follow Cattelan’s progress from his 2011 retrospective at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in New York to Comedian, his infamous 2019 sculpture of a banana affixed to the wall with duct tape.
