About the Book:

‘Mint&Serf: Between Language+Art’ is a comprehensive look at over twenty five years (1998-2024) of collaborative in-studio work and outdoor practice by the New York City-based artist duo, Mint&Serf also known as the MIRF. Rooted in graffiti and formal mark-making, the two artists continuously explore the effervescent spirit of vandalism as it relates to public and private spaces in the context of contemporary visual culture. As long-time practitioners who remain active in the graffiti scene to this day, they confront old image-making tropes and continue to rethink ideas embedded in the act of vandalism as it relates to social norms of the status quo. It is a vivid tale of two teenagers who met in the late and gritty 1990’s in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn over common passion and continued to explore beyond the five boroughs and collaborate into their forties.
